Bay to Breakers 2013 was just as fun and action packed as all the prior years. We started with a lovely breakfast of bacon, scones, and mimosas then set out to catch up to the festivities. This year we were donning Cards Against Humanity t-shirts and of course running shoes. If you haven’t had a chance to join this costumed “race” then I would highly recommend you put it on your calendar for next year.
Monkeys here, monkeys there, monkeys everywhere! The rainforest of Manuel Antonio is full of these furry little guys. This one in particular decided to eat a nest off a tree right next to the path. If you are looking for a place to see wildlife, hike, relax, soak up the sun and squeeze in a little beach time then Costa Rica can’t be beat.
Antigua, Guatemala may very well be one of my favorite cities in the world. From the cobblestone streets to the large expat community this is a place where I could see myself setting up shop. Of course my shop would be all coffee and cupcakes and I would be a frenzy of caffeine and sugar, but that is neither here nor there. If you haven’t made it to Guatemala yet, go there! Don’t believe all the stories about how dangerous it is (I would still stay on high alert, but it doesn’t feel as unsafe as the travel articles will have you believe) and expose yourself to the fabulous people of Guatemala.
Do you have a favorite city in the world? What makes it your favorite?
Arequipa might be one of those places you skip when you are in Peru, but it shouldn’t be! The square in Arequipa is surrounded by restaurants which allow you to people watch and enjoy the splendor of the church.
Have you spent any time in Peru? What was your favorite city? Any hidden gems?
This is truly a work of art that has spanned the centuries. It was years ago when I took the photo and it seems time for me to go back and get an update. Rumor has it that the building is finally nearing completion.
Have you visited La Familia Sagrada? Do you have a side you prefer? When was the last time you saw it?
